Hoy me he encontrado este poema de Rumi. Aunque no esté formulado en lenguaje matemático, me ha gustado cómo relaciona la forma y su función, yin y yang, materia y espíritu.
Copio y traduzco del inglés, de la versión de Coleman Barks en The Red Book. Faltaría aclarar que Shams Tabriz, que aparece en el último verso, fue el maestro de Rumi.
FORM IS ECSTATIC
LA FORMA ESTÁ EN ÉXTASIS
There is a shimmering excitement in being sentient and shaped.
Existe un entusiasmo resplandeciente por tener sentidos y forma.
The caravan master sees his camels lost in it,
Quien dirige la caravana ve a sus camellos perdidos en ella,
nose to tail, as he himself is, his friend,
la nariz contra la cola, así como él mismo, su amigo,
and the stranger coming toward them.
y el desconocido que viene hace ellos.
A gardener watches the sky break into song,
Un jardinero observa cómo el cielo rompe a cantar,
cloud wobbly with what is, bud and thorn the same.

Wind, water, wandering this essential state.
El viento, el agua, a la deriva en este estado esencial.
Fire, ground, gone. That is how it is with the outside.
Fuego, suelo, se fueron. Así es como está lo de afuera.
Form is ecstatic.
La forma está en éxtasis.
Now imagine the inner. Soul, intelligence, the secret worlds.
Ahora imagina lo de adentro. Alma, inteligencia, los mundos secretos.
And do not think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter.
Y no creas que el jardín pierde su éxtasis en invierno.
It is quiet, but the roots are down there riotous.
